Since its release in 2015, the Cloud II has established itself as a benchmark wired gaming headset for gamers, in particular thanks to its simply excellent comfort sensations. Eight years after the release of the first model, HyperX has finally decided to give its iconic helmet a facelift with the release of the Cloud III.

Slightly revised design and improved comfort sensations

The Cloud III stands out from its predecessor with more rounded corners and a plastic finish that gives it a slightly more “toy” appearance. The steel and aluminum structure has been retained, as has the iconic black and red colour. The hinges look different as does the headband which ditches the braiding for a streamlined design.

According to HyperX, the sensations of comfort would be even better on this Cloud III thanks to new pads made of memory foam and covered with imitation leather. The helmet is also lighter than its predecessor: count 320 g for the Cloud III against 350 g for the Cloud II.

New speakers and new microphone

The Cloud III’s 53mm drivers have been redesigned and angled slightly to deliver better sound than the Cloud II. In addition, the headset now incorporates DTS Headphone:X 3D virtualization technology. The gooseneck microphone has also been revised. It is always detachable, has a new noise reduction system and incorporates an anti-pop filter.

Also note that the Cloud III is a wired headset, it has no wireless connectivity. It can be connected by minijack, USB-A or USB-C according to your desires. It is therefore compatible with all existing platforms such as PC, PS5, Xbox, Switch, smartphone…

The Cloud III is already available at a price of €119.99, which is €50 more than the current price of the Cloud II.
