Amazon is best known as the world’s largest online retailer. Last year, of course, the corona pandemic helped him. Amazon has continued to grow. But Amazon earns most of its money with Internet services; the cloud business. This is because more and more companies are using these Amazon services – including large Swiss companies.
For example, the pharmaceutical manufacturer Roche and the watch and jewelry group Richemont use the computing power and data storage from Amazon. Roche, for example, for research purposes and to analyze data. And Richemont moved his IT to Amazon in 2021.
IT business more profitable than trade
Amazon earns a lot of money with Internet services and data centers: last year alone, the bottom line was a good 18 billion dollars in profits.
