Frankfurt coach Hütter goes to Gladbach
The pressure became too great: After days of speculation, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Mönchengladbach announce the change of coach Adi Hütter for the summer. For the foals, the Austrian receives a contract until 2024. On the Main, the entire management team will have to be replaced.
Eintracht Frankfurt coach Adi Hütter is moving to league rivals Borussia Mönchengladbach for the coming Bundesliga season. The two clubs confirmed this. The Austrian Hütter signs a contract on the Lower Rhine until 2024 and will succeed Marco Rose, who will move to Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
While the long search for a successor in Gladbach, in which Xabi Alonso was also acted as the new head coach, has now come to an end, the Hessians now have to find a replacement for the very successful coach in the middle of the fight for the first-time Champions League participation. “The decision to open a new chapter for the new season was not an easy one for me. He had already left the Young Boys Bern at their height as champions in Switzerland – it could now be similar in Frankfurt if the Champions League qualification succeeds.
“We are very happy about Adi Hütter’s acceptance”, Borussia’s sporting director Max Eberl was quoted on the Gladbach club’s website. “For our team and our club, he is the best coach for the challenges and goals that lie ahead of us from the summer.”
While Gladbach with Hütter and manager Max Eberl wants to attack the top group of the Bundesliga again in 2021/22, Eintracht is also facing an extremely exciting summer apart from all sporting issues. Long before the farewell to Hütter, which began in Frankfurt in the summer of 2018, the separation from sports director Bruno Hübner was clear. His contract is running out. Fredi Bobic also wants to leave the club this summer, but has a contract until 2023. Before a new coach is sought, the executive board question must first be clarified in Frankfurt.
