CN Receives Strike Notice from Union Representing Signals and Communications Workers in Canada

MONTREAL, June 15, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — CN (TSX: CNR) (NYSE: CNI) today confirmed that the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), which represents approximately 750 employees in Canada, gave him 72 hours’ notice of his intention to strike at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on June 18, 2022.

CN has bargained in good faith with the union and will continue to do so. The Company has also offered to settle the various issues, which primarily relate to wages and benefits, through binding arbitration. CN remains optimistic about the chances of reaching an agreement without a strike.

However, should the union decide to call a strike, CN would be prepared to implement its service continuity plan, which will ensure the continuation of normal operations safely, for as long as necessary.
