Cobra Kai on Netflix: a scene deemed problematic was rewritten by an actress

Mary Mouser, the interpreter of Samantha LaRusso in the series “Cobra Kai”, revealed that she had the opportunity to rewrite a scene with which she was not satisfied.

No, not all shoots turn out horribly for the actresses. Proof of this is with this testimony provided by Mary Mouser, the interpreter of Samantha LaRusso in the Cobra Kai series, during an interview granted to Collider !

The actress notably revealed that a scene present in the final episode of season 4 caused her particular problem. During the All Valley tournament, Miguel – then in the midst of a rivalry with Robbie – violently addresses Samantha, telling her “You’ll see what I’m going to do with your boyfriend”. In particular in reference to the fact that Sam and Robbie actually dated a few seasons earlier.

Embarrassed that her character forgives Miguel so quickly for his foul attitude, the actress therefore conveyed her dissatisfaction to the scriptwriters, who made her the completely unexpected proposal to rewrite the scene to her liking.

So Xolo and I went to sit down with a piece of paper and a copy of the script, and we talked about our vision of the scene, then we passed it on to the scriptwriters who of course embellished the whole thing because it’s their job, and they asked us if we were happy with this change, which we were.

An idyllic working atmosphere, most certainly at the origin of the success of the series, but also of its success: launched on September 9, the fifth season of Cobra Kai still occupies two weeks later the ranking of the most viewed programs on Netflix. A good omen for the future, although a season 6 has not yet been officially ordered by the platform!
