Already five seasons for Cobra Kai, the Netflix series that follows the Karate Kid films. After putting an end to their rivalry, Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, sensei of the Miyagi-dô and Cobra Kai dojos respectively, face a formidable new enemy: Terry Silver.

If it is not necessary to have seen the films to appreciate the series, it should nevertheless be noted that it often refers to past events; thus Terry Silver was the villain of Karate Kid 3, while the enemy of the second installment – ​​Chozen – joined the ranks of the good guys to assist Johnny and Daniel in their quest for revenge.

If you want to immerse yourself in the first three Karate Kid films, but also its spin-off Miss Karate Kid (with Hilary Swank), you will have to go through video rental, none of them currently appearing in the catalog. from one of the SVOD platforms. The four films are nevertheless available on most online rental services, for a reasonable price of between €2.99 and €3.99 depending on the offers.

Only The Karate Kid, the 2010 remake starring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan in the lead roles, is available on Netflix. Although it is not related to the plot of the previous films nor to the Cobra Kai series, this well-made remake offers an entertaining reading of the original work.
