Who will win the All Valley Karate tournament?
Already at the end of the 3rd season of “Cobra Kai” it was clear that in the new episodes everything boils down to the big confrontation at the All-Valley-Karate-Tournament. “Eagle Fang Karate” and “Miyagi-Do” had finally made peace with “Cobra Kai” until the tournament (which even held for the most part).
As expected, things then went on on the mats on which Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) defeated Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) in “The Karate Kid” from 1984. In contrast to previous All Valley Karate tournaments, this time there is a female and male champion as well as a team rating.
The latter wins the “Cobra Kai” dojo. John Kreese (Martin Kove), returnees Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) and the students of “Cobra Kai” win the Grand Champion trophy.
Tory Nichols (Peyton List) from “Cobra Kai” becomes the female champion. She defeated Daniel’s daughter Samantha (Mary Mouser) in the final. In the end, a little surprisingly Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz (Jacob Bertrand) prevailed among the men. Hawk defeated Johnny’s son Robby Keene (Tanner Buchanan) in the final.
What does Cobra Kai’s victory mean for Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang Karate?
Senseis John Kreese, Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence agreed at the end of season 3 of the Netflix series that the dojo that loses in the All Valley karate tournament will close. “Eagle Fang Karate” comes off worst of the three at the tournament, while “Miyagi-Do” is the champion among the men. As a result of the victory, Cobra Kai gains prestige among the youth in the Valley and the malicious teachings of the dojo continue to spread.

Who plays Daniel LaRusso in “Cobra Kai”?

Will Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence really retire as Senseis in Season 5? No! In the season 4 finale, Daniel kneels by the tombstone of Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita), who died in the world of the Netflix series in 2011. Daniel is thinking out loud here. Mr. Miyagi’s student wonders if he should give up his dojo and step down as sensei. He shakes his head and explains, “There is too much at stake to keep an agreement with men without honor.”
When he used the phrase “men without honor” he meant, of course, John Kreese and Terry Silver. So “Miyagi-Do” (and probably also “Eagle Fang Karate”) will continue to appear in season 5 of the Netflix series. Daniel formulates an intention: He wants to stop “Cobra Kai” – if necessary also by attack. Daniel gets prominent support on board for his project …
The big returnee from the season 4 finale declared
Suddenly Chozen Toguchi (Yuji Okumoto) stands next to Daniel. He was his great adversary in “Karate Kid II – Decision in Okinawa” from 1986 and was also involved in the third season of “Cobra Kai”. At first it appeared here as if Chozen and Daniel were continuing their old rivalry.
But then the two reconciled and Chozen taught Daniel the technique of the secret Miyagi pressure points. In the upcoming 5th season of “Cobra Kai”, Daniel and Chozen will now teach their students more secrets of “Miyagi-Do” and probably also this technique.
Daniel receives support from Chozen – like John Kreese from Terry Silver before. In addition, the “Cobra Kai” series maintains the beautiful tradition of having a new, iconic character from the legendary “Karate Kid” film series appear in each season (even if Chozen was already in season 3 in the episodes that played in Japan, was part of the party).
Terry Silver tricked John Kreese into taking control of the “Cobra Kai” dojo
Returning Terry Silver is very different from John Kreese. The rich businessman wants to expand with “Cobra Kai”. He cleverly uses the victory at the All Valley Karate tournament for advertising. On stage he explains that “Cobra Kai” will set up branches in the Valley. The dojo should get even stronger in season 5.
But at the same time Terry Silver cannot share power badly. John Kreese once saved his life in Vietnam (as seen in flashbacks in season 3), but Silver doesn’t want to be indebted to him forever.
In the 4th season of “Cobra Kai” he beats up season 2 returnees “Stingray” (Paul Walter Hauser), who wants to become a member of “Cobra Kai” again. Silver is pursuing a diabolical plan: He will take Stingray back if he gives the police a false testimony against John Kreese in return.
The seriously injured Stingray does the same in his hospital bed. John Kreese is then arrested by the police. He is likely to face jail time.
In the 5th season of “Cobra Kai” Terry Silver will therefore – at least at the beginning – have full control over the “Cobra Kai” dojo. Some old friends, who are probably well-known characters from “Karate Kid 3”, will help him with this.

“Cobra Kai”: Johnny and Miguel (Source: Netflix)
What will happen to Miguel and Johnny in Season 5?
Father-son conflicts have always played a big role in “Cobra Kai”. While Johnny and his son Robby were given a moment of discussion in the season 4 finale, Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña) decided to travel to Mexico City to meet his biological father. In a letter to his mother Carmen (Vanessa Rubio), Miguel writes that he wants to know where he comes from.
Johnny assures his girlfriend Carmen that he will follow his foster son Miguel and protect him. In addition, Johnny suspects that Miguel’s father is unlikely to harm his son, even though he’s a bad person.
But Carmen warns Johnny that Miguel’s father knows nothing of his son’s existence. Presumably Johnny will now follow Miguel and some scenes from season 5 of “Cobra Kai” will take place in Mexico. Is Johnny going to fight some gangster guys here?
Did Terry Silver Manipulate the All Valley Karate Tournament?
Yes! Tory Nichols is visibly happy about her trophy after her victory in the women. But behind the scenes of the All Valley tournament, she then accidentally catches a conversation between Terry Silver and the referee of her fight. Silver bribed this one.
That’s why he encouraged Tory, after the blow on Samantha LaRusso’s right eye, to initiate an illegal blow on her other eye as well. Silver knew, of course, that the bribed referee would not disqualify Tory for doing so.
What else will be important in season 5 of “Cobra Kai”?
In addition to everything that has already been mentioned here, the upcoming 5th season of “Cobra Kai”, which has already been confirmed, will of course also have a lot more in store for Netflix viewers. The figure Devon should be mentioned here as just one example among many. Played by Oona O’Brien, she only started karate training late in season 4 of “Cobra Kai”.
After being eliminated from the All Valley tournament, Devon said, “I’ve only trained for 6 weeks. Next year I’ll beat all these weak sluts.”
Daniel LaRusso’s son Anthony (Griffin Santopietro), for example, could also take up karate training at “Miyagi-Do” (or “Eagle Fang Karate”) in season 5. Finally, in the finale of the new episodes, he was beaten in the worst possible way by season 4 newcomer Kenny (Dallas Dupree Young). And the harassment by bullys in the “Karate Kid” franchise often triggered an in-depth preoccupation with karate.
If you feel aimless and lost after the end of season 4, you should take a look at our list of movie tips that are perfect as “Cobra Kai” alternatives. We’ll also tell you why Daniel LaRusso’s age is a big logic hole.
