Cobra: the cult anime from the 80s soon to be adapted into a video game by Microids

Even though the animated series CobraOr Space Adventure Cobra in some territories, only lasted one season and 31 episodes, it marked the minds of many fans of Japanese animation, from 1982 in Japan then from 1985 in France. The soap opera based on Buichi Terasawa’s manga published between 1978 and 1984 was entitled to a remake in 2010 under the name of Cobra: The Animationwithout the same success.

Against all odds, the futuristic and colorful universe of the galactic bounty hunter Cobra will return to the front of the stage soon, and more particularly on the video game scene. Microidsalready at work on Grendizer: Feast of the Wolvesgoes produce a video game Cobra with the Japanese company TMS and a developer who has yet to be specified. But yes, players of all ages will soon be able to have fun with the Delta radius alongside memorable characters like Armanoid.

According to Stéphane Longeard, CEO of Microids: “We are delighted to be working on this adaptation of Cobra, a legendary anime that has marked millions of viewers around the world. We are committed to respecting the universe and the characters created by Buichi Terasawa, while offering an immersive gaming experience that is faithful to the spirit of the series. The Cobra game promises to be a great adventure for fans and players looking for a rich and captivating universe”.

For his part, Tadashi Takezaki, CEO of TMS Entertainment said: “We were impressed by the passion and professionalism of the Microids team, and we are convinced that Cobra lovers will be delighted to discover this new video game. We can’t wait to see the end result, which promises to delight fans.”
