Cobra: the new Razer mouse that wants to please everyone, from 50 €

We are already familiar with Razer mice, which are classified by families according to their uses: the Viper for competitive ultralights, the slightly more ergonomic DeathAdder, the Naga for MMOs and MOBAs or even the Basilisks for greater versatility. The latter being quite heavy, with around 100 g on the scale, Razer wanted to fill the gap by presenting a model that is still versatile, but a little lighter.

The Middle Way

The Cobra Pro and Cobra thus have a more ambidextrous and less beveled format than the Basilisk, which saves thirty to fifty grams on the total weight of the mouse. If this new series was perhaps not essential, it offers a little more choice, even if the models that compose it are ultimately very close to the Viper in terms of design. The Cobra Pro, a wireless model adorned with all-purpose RGB lighting – adjustable in 11 zones – thus weighs 77 g, halfway between the 58 g of the Viper V2 Pro and the 112 g of the Basilisk V3 Pro .

It is equipped with the Focus Pro 30K, Razer’s excellent sensor, and eight buttons are configurable in total. The connection to the PC will be made using the brand’s dongle for minimal latency, but Bluetooth is also included. These advanced features should allow you to play in good conditions, even if the ultralight ones may be more suitable for FPS.

An affordable wireless model

The wired Cobra loses RGB customization over 11 zones and is limited to a single headband; you can only program “only” six buttons and the sensitivity reaches “only” 8500 DPI. In practice, it should be more than enough to browse one or more 4K screens without problem. Above all, its price, €100 lower, is much more affordable for the general public, especially for a mouse that weighs barely 58 g and can definitely be classified in the ultralight category.

Count 150 € to get your hands on the Cobra Pro, a substantial price, but now quite classic for high-end mice. The wired Cobra costs just €50, and both models are already available. To find out all about this novelty, we’ll give you an appointment soon for a complete test.
