Cocaine in cassava in two supermarkets in Île-de-France

Police are investigating to determine if other stores may be affected.

Cocaine per kilo was found in cassava roots in two supermarkets in Ile-de-France, including a Leclerc in Orly (Val-de-Marne), the Créteil prosecutor’s office told AFP on Friday, confirming information from Parisian. It was a customer who alerted the police after buying cassava in which the white powder was found “in the form of tubes” in the Leclerc d’Orly, the public prosecutor told AFP. The police seized on the night of Thursday to Friday 1.6 kilos of drugs in this supermarket.
