Cocorico: Voice Control, Sonos’ offline voice control system, is available in French!

The novelty was long overdue for French-speaking users since the announcement last June of Voice Control, a new flagship feature of the Sonos ecosystem. As its English name bluntly indicates, this allows you to control your entire fleet of Sonos speakers at home by voice, provided you have at least one speaker integrating a voice recording system, which tends to generalize in the catalog of the American manufacturer. The Sonos One, the first, was quickly joined by the Beam and Arc soundbars, then by the mobile speakers Move and Roam.

As a reminder of our article linked to the very first announcement, Sonos Voice Control is a pure and hard voice control system, unlike Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa, which offer a whole lot of connected functionalities revolving around them and whose processing of requests and data is done online.

Thus, Sonos Voice Control is both ultra-responsive and protective of personal data. In the controls menu, we can for example mention the possibility of managing playback, modifying the volume, requesting a specific song or album, activating certain features or even managing the multiroom park, all without having to leave its application.
