CoD: Modern Warfare 2: Footsteps sounds and enemy visibility will be improved

After a successful second beta, as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s second beta weekend was the most popular in franchise history, the developers were able to collect countless reviews, and spoke about the things that will probably be changed between now and the game’s release, at the end of October, on the official site.

Footsteps changed when exiting

If you played the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta, you most likely noticed that the footsteps were very audible, and sometimes embarrassing to locate another player, mostly on maps with different levels. The developers, who had already made some changes, took note of this feedback and plan to modify these sounds a little more.

Better visibility for enemy players

The other major change that should be incorporated upon release is the fact that enemies should be more visible. During the beta, it was sometimes difficult to see an opponent clearly, especially if they were inside and you were outside. Infinity Ward is aware of this and will apply some improvements, although no details were given on this subject.

For the rest, the lobbies could see some changes, after the beta tests, while the developers seem satisfied with the balance of the weapons.

Either way, it’s always nice to see that the studio is very responsive to community fears. Let’s hope that the various concerns will be resolved during the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2October 28, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series.
