Coffee is one of the most popular stimulants of all. Many people swap the hot drink in the morning for a full breakfast – but that’s not a good idea at all.

Whether espresso, creamy cappuccino or filter coffee: that For many people, hot drinks are an integral part of their daily morning routine. It’s not just the awakening effect that coffee lovers appreciate so much, but also the special moment of enjoyment. And this begins with the preparation: While baristas skillfully tinker with the portafilter machine, filter fans pour the black gold in a circle with hot water. Coffee breakfast puts a strain on the body

Especially in the morning, when time seems short, many people often just grab a cup of coffee. Other important components for a balanced breakfast are then often left out – such as a wholemeal sandwich with vegetable sticks or oatmeal with yoghurt and some fruit. In the long run, however, this “coffee breakfast” is not a good idea because, on the one hand, coffee hardly provides the body with any energy: the blood sugar level drops over the course of the morning and causes cravings. On the other hand, the caffeine contained in coffee can lead to inner restlessness and lack of concentration and increase the feeling of stress due to cortisol – goodbye to relaxing moments of enjoyment!

Cleverly combine coffee for breakfast

Instead of just grabbing a cup of coffee in the morning, the hot drink should be part of a hearty breakfast. This provides the body with sustainable nutrients and energy and can prevent inner restlessness. No time to prepare a full breakfast in the morning? No problem! Thanks to overnight oats, breakfast is prepared the evening before and is ready to eat the next day. To do this, oat flakes are infused with twice the amount of liquid, such as cow’s milk or plant-based drink, and placed in the refrigerator overnight. Before eating, breakfast can be refined with some fresh fruit, seeds and nuts – and the super quick morning meal is ready.

Coffee is so healthy

Drinked in moderation, coffee is thought to reduce cardiovascular disease and diabetes as well as prevent depression. Prepared black – i.e. without milk and sugar – it is quite healthy because it contains radical-scavenging antioxidants that keep the body’s cells healthy. In order to enjoy the full moment of pleasure, coffee drinkers should best drink the hot drink with or immediately after a substantial meal.
