Cogra posts 35% revenue growth in the first quarter of 2022/23 – 10/10/2022 at 17:03

(AOF) – In the first quarter of 2022/23 (July 1 – September 30, 2022), the wood pellet producer Cogra recorded a turnover of 8.8 million euros, up 35% compared to the first quarter 2021/22 (6.5 million). The increase in sales takes into account the continuous increase in demand, coupled with that of production capacities – the new plant in Craponne-sur-Arzon, started up in the 2020-2021 financial year. Sales of stoves and boilers also followed the same trend this quarter.

The increase in wood pellet prices, which has been taking place gradually since August, has had an insignificant impact on this first quarter.

In accordance with its commitments, Cogra pursues responsible market practices aimed at meeting heating needs in the winter period, and at sustaining the wood pellet sector both economically and ecologically.

Beyond a reasonable pricing policy, Cogra favors local sales. Thanks to agile management of supplies in a context of high activity, Cogra was able to carry out the maintenance of its production lines prior to the ramp-up of its production capacity, and the strengthening of its stocks in order to serve the increase in demand this winter.

However, Cogra remains very attentive to the evolution of the raw materials market. Indeed, the 2022-2023 heating season will be under tension in an unusual context.

Thanks to all the measures taken over several months, the empowerment of customers and the awareness that this market must be organized according to a scheme of short circuits, both in supply and in distribution, Cogra intends to participate as much as possible in the effort of production while preserving the solid and virtuous fundamentals of its development model.
