Coke and cannabis – trial of drug family in Graz: verdicts passed

An Iraqi clan was indicted this week in Graz for drug trafficking. Five people were found guilty on Friday. The eldest son was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

As reported, an Iraqi-born family had to answer to the Graz Regional Criminal Court this week for importing and selling over 20 kilos of cocaine, 250 kilos of cannabis and one kilo of flex cocaine (“zombie drug”).Drugs stored in a stranger’s houseThe 36-year-old main defendant is said to have ordered the drugs in Montenegro together with his brother (33) and then sold them. The suspects were able to prove that they were dealing drugs using the chat history, which was sent via crypto messenger services.The drugs were stored in a chimney shaft in a house that the accused had nothing to do with, in underground garages or empty apartments. The 36-year-old pleaded guilty to most of the charges, but tried to exonerate his youngest brother and his wife.The verdicts were handed down yesterday: the eldest son was sentenced to 15 years in prison, the middle son to seven years. Father, mother and youngest son received combined fines and suspended prison sentences, while the daughter-in-law was acquitted. The verdicts are not final.
