Cold and dark – EVN turned off the power to a seriously ill Waldviertel

Since September, the mother of a seriously ill son in the district of Waidhofen an der Thaya has been trying to get an electricity supply contract from Lower Austria’s provider EVN – so far in vain. After “Krone” research at the energy giant, the next faux pas happened in a chain of unfortunate circumstances: the seriously ill patient suddenly found himself alone in a dark and cold apartment.

Although she wanted to conclude an electricity supply contract with EVN for her seriously ill son in September, a mother from the district of Waidhofen an der Thaya has not yet been able to do so. The 28-year-old, who has an integrative job, was worried about the much-needed 150-euro energy cost compensation – the “Krone” reported. Son was standing in a dark apartment announced the solution to the contract problem, the power was also turned off. When the son came home, he wasn’t just standing in the dark: his apartment is only heated with electricity. In addition, it cools down to four degrees at night in the Waldviertel. Food in the freezer threatened to spoil without electricity. After his call for help, the mother tried to pull out all the stops. She actually reached someone in charge at EVN that evening. Since she was also able to prove that all the information she had given about the forthcoming energy contract was correct, the electricity was switched on again within an hour. The mother is very grateful for this “rapid personal commitment”. The case will be rectified as soon as possible – the electricity contract will be made at September conditions, and the customer will be compensated for the annoyance. The energy cost compensation has been extended until March. Zach wants to work to ensure that the son receives all further energy aid.
