Colin Firth: Confirmed as the lead on "Zombie Brother"

Actor and Oscar winner Colin Firth goes among the comic film heroes. He takes on the lead role in "Zombie Brother".

That comes as a surprise: Colin Firth (60), who received an Oscar for his performance in "The King's Speech" in 2011, is one of the comic film heroes. Not for Marvel or DC, however, but in the film adaptation of a series called "Zombie Brother", which is rather unknown in this country but has been immensely successful in China. This is reported by the US industry website "Deadline".

The implementation therefore has the working title "New York Will Eat You Alive", whereby the name seems to be the program – after all, the world is overrun by man-eating zombies. The audience does not have to be prepared for deadly serious horror, rather the planned film is intended as an action comedy and would therefore fit well with the "Kingsman" series. In the Firth was already allowed to prove his talent as a quick-witted action star, who is never at a loss for a cool and funny saying.

Known for his "dry sense of humor"

According to "Deadline", the head of the responsible film studio, Adam Fogelson, justified the reason why they tried to get Firth: "We always wanted to cast the film in a way that would bring the original to life and highlight the action. " And this goal can be achieved with Colin Firth. Also in "New York Will Eat You Alive", as in "Kingsman", he should be allowed to show his "dry humor and comedic timing".

Channing Tatum (40) is one of the co-producers of the project. It is not yet known when "New York Will Eat You Alive" will hit theaters.
