Yesterday at the U21 European Championships in Bordeaux, she won gold in the show jumping with a jump over 45.2 meters, ten centimeters ahead of local hero Ines Anguenot – and silver in the combination. “I’m over the moon with that, my first gold medal at a European Championship,” beams Lili.Off to the USAAnd today the 19-year-old is flying to the USA. Steiner received a four-year scholarship to study physics in Lafayette, Louisiana, and continues to water ski there for the college team. The semester starts today, Steiner had to get permission in advance for the European Championships to be allowed to start two days later. Bleeding in the lungs Pörtschach teammate Sammy Hinteregger was shocked. The 19-year-old fell badly during jump training, suffered a few bruises and hemorrhages in the lungs. Because he is therefore not allowed to fly, his parents had to pick him up in the car in France.
