The health authorities have decided to change the rules for isolating contact cases in the general population. “As of Monday, unvaccinated contact cases over the age of 12 will no longer be required to isolate themselves. They will respect the same rules as contact cases with a complete vaccination schedule, namely the performance of a self-test on D2 “, explains the Ministry of National Education. Wearing a mask indoors is, on the other hand, “strongly recommended for 7 days after the occurrence of the confirmed case”, it is underlined.

Teenagers 12-17 years old are eligible for a booster dose

“The pupil’s legal representatives or the pupil will be given a free self-test on presentation of the letter given by the establishment to the contacts at risk” and “in parallel, the CPAM can carry out checks on the status of pupil contacts at risk (vaccination, Covid-19 history) and transmit the elements in a secure manner to the sole attention of the health personnel of National Education”, continues the Ministry of Education.

He recalls that “adolescents aged 12 to 17 have been eligible for a booster dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 since January 24. This booster is not mandatory, but it is recommended because of the high contagiousness of the variant. Omicron, which also affects this age group.
