Collided with a car – Carinthian biker thrown through the air in a crash

A serious motorcycle accident occurred on Saturday in Carinthia near Maria Rain. In a collision with a car, a motorcycle handler was thrown several meters through the air.

An 81-year-old from Klagenfurt was traveling from Klagenfurt towards Ferlach on Loiblpass Straße (B 91) at around 1:10 p.m. At the level of the inn in Unterschloßberg near Maria Rain, he wanted to turn left into the inn’s parking lot. At the same time, a 49-year-old man from the Klagenfurt district was traveling towards Klagenfurt on his motorcycle. As the driver of the car turned, a collision occurred between the two vehicles. The biker hit the side of the rear of the car and was thrown several meters through the air. He remained seriously injured in the opposite lane and had to be taken to the UKH Klagenfurt by ambulance after receiving first aid. The 81-year-old and his passenger remained uninjured. Significant material damage occurred on both vehicles. In addition to rescue and police, the Köttmannsdorf and Kirschentheuer volunteer fire departments were also on duty with a total of 36 men/women and four vehicles.
