Color: We want to see these tones in 2021

The color institute Pantone summarized the color trends at the Fashion Weeks and published them in the "Fashion Color Trend Report".

Autumn shows itself in its typical gold and red tones. But the designers are already six months ahead and are in the starting blocks with their spring / summer 2021 collections. The color institute Pantone took a look around the Fashion Weeks – digital or analog – and put together a color palette with the emerging trends.

Pretty in pink

Pretty in pink is called "Pirouette". The color institute describes it as a "subtle, ethereal shade of pink". It was already a hit on the catwalks this season. And there is a reason for that: pink can be combined beautifully and airy with cream tones. But "pirouette" also works as a statement look, as women wrap themselves in it from head to toe, for example with a great jumpsuit.

"Raspberry Sorbet" is also popular

It gets gaudier and bolder with "Raspberry Sorbet". If you opt for a look from the pink color family, you should make sure that the outfit is not too loud. It's better to take a basic piece and style it with subtle colors around it: A culottes in dark blue or a pleated skirt in lime with a "rasberry" blouse create a feeling of spring despite the autumnal temperatures.

Natural green and beguiling violet

Green is also a big topic in the fashion cosmos right now. "Beach Glass" and "Pickled Pepper" basically bring the garden onto the catwalk. Michael Kors and Alice + Olivia use these colors in their creations. With the designers Victoria Beckham and Jason Wu one saw more "Purple Rose", a "mystically beguiling violet", as Pantone writes.

Summer in orange

Outfits in intense orange drew attention in both New York and London. The range of tones was probably the greatest here. From "Orange Ocher" to "Marigold" to the shimmering "Rust" everything was there. But be careful! Orange is a real styling challenge. A complete look in orange screams Halloween pumpkin quickly. Therefore, it is better to rely on individual parts or accessories in orange and wear them with black.
