The New Year’s Eve celebrations in Vienna’s city center are in full swing – and of course the “Krone” photographers are right in the middle of it! Above all – after a two-year break due to the pandemic, there are a lot of people cavorting, especially on the New Year’s Eve path. There are six stages and a total of 70 hours of (music) program for the guests. But: there are no fireworks, at least not professional ones.
This year, visitors could look forward to a twelve-hour spectacle in the heart of the city. There will be celebrations at a total of six locations in the city with free admission. The more than 70-hour stage program began at 2 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and continues until 2 a.m. The gastro has been open since 11 a.m. The path extends over 1.5 kilometers from Freyung via Am Hof square, Graben, Stephansplatz and Kärntner Straße to Neuer Markt.
