“LOL: Last One Laughing” continues. Prime Video has confirmed a fourth season for spring 2023.

Award-winning comedy show “LOL: Last One Laughing” has broken a record with its third season. For the third time in a row, the hit show is the most-streamed title of all time on Prime Video in Germany and Austria. The streaming service reported on Tuesday. The third season finale has been available on Prime Video since last Thursday.

The fourth season is coming

But that’s not all, a fourth season with host Michael Bully Herbig (54) was confirmed on Tuesday for spring 2023. “LOL: Last One Laughing remains our Prime members’ absolute favorite format,” confirms Philip Pratt, Head of German Originals at Amazon Studios. “The positive feedback from our viewers and the award of the German Comedy Prize spur us on to go one step further,” Pratt continued.

For the next season he reveals: “We are looking forward to many crazy surprises that Michael Bully Herbig and the Constantin Entertainment team around Otto Steiner will come up with for the forthcoming fourth season – and of course to ten fantastic participants who not laughing at the challenge.”

Host Herbig is also looking forward to new challenges in season four: “I’ll put it this way, if you’re already laughing on the floor and think it’s no longer possible, the fourth season comes from somewhere.”

How LOL: Last One Laughing works

In “LOL: Last One Laughing” ten comedians and celebrities locked in a room try to make each other laugh and get kicked out of the show for six hours. They do everything to achieve this goal: stand-up, comic character, improvisation and, above all, full use of their bodies.

Michael Bully Herbig watches the hustle and bustle from his control room and removes every celebrity from the show in the event of the smallest repeated facial derailment. The last person in the group can donate a sum of 50,000 euros to a good cause.

Warning, spoilers!

In the first season, Torsten Sträter (55) won, in the second season Max Giermann (46) and since Thursday it has been clear: the season three victory went to Anke Engelke (56).

The production is an adaptation of a popular Japanese Amazon Original series.
