After years of rumors and expectations, here we are: Scott Pilgrim will have the right to an adaptation in an animated series on Netflix!

Scott Pilgrim takes on a new form
Launched in 2004, Scott Pilgrim is primarily a series of comics by Bryan Lee O’Malley. But it is six years later, thanks in particular to Edgar Wright, that the work will become known to the general public with a very appreciated and rather explosive adaptation in live action feature film. Then, besides a video game offered by Ubisoft, nothing. But that was without counting on Netflix, which has just announced a rebirth with an adaptation in an animated series.
As announced by Wright himself, who will return to executive produce, the entire cast of his film will also make a comeback to give voice. It is thus a question of Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Brie Larson, Brandon Routh, Aubrey Plaza or even Anna Kendrick to name a (beautiful) handful.
An adaptation that already ticks many boxes
The other good news is that original creator Bryan Lee O’Malley will also be at the helm of this animated series, supported by screenwriter BenDavid Grabinski (Scare me !). For the animation, it’s the Science SARU studio (Devilman Crybaby, Star Wars: Visions) which was retained. Concerning the music, the Anamanaguchi group, at the origin of the soundtrack of the video game, will be at work again alongside Joseph Trapanese (Straight Outta Compton).
However, there had to be a (small) shadow to this more than promising picture: for first images or a release date on Netflix for this series Scott Pilgrim, we will have to wait a little longer. In the meantime, to stream the film and the turbulent adventures of the eponymous hero in search of the heart of Ramona Flowers, head to Canal+! There is no doubt that Netflix should soon recover the broadcasting rights to accompany the series.
