Eddie Jordan caused a stir with statements about Michael Schumacher’s wife that he didn’t mean “disrespectfully”.

Eddie Jordan (74) caused a stir in an interview with strange comments. In an interview with a sports betting platform, he compared the life of Michael Schumacher’s (54) wife Corinna (54) to that of a “prisoner”. Compared to the “Bild” newspaper, Jordan is now trying to put the statement into perspective.

Michael Schumacher had a serious skiing accident at the end of 2013. Speaking to the platform, reported by the British “Daily Mail”, among othersJordan claimed that Corinna Schumacher has allegedly been living “like a prisoner” since the accident because everyone would want to talk to her about the Formula 1 legend.

He also said that he had wanted to visit Schumacher years ago, but that his wife had refused. Jordan is now attempting these comments the “Bild” newspaper to explain again: “I have known her for a long time, I love her very much and my statements were not meant to be disrespectful.”

Jordan enabled Michael Schumacher to start in Formula 1 for the first time in 1991. After just one race, however, the racing driver had changed teams. Schumacher was honored with the State Prize of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia in Cologne in July 2022. His wife Corinna and daughter Gina (26) accepted the award. “Today we are paying tribute above all to Michael Schumacher beyond racing and the bright spotlight: a person who has a big heart and for whom it has always been important to think of others,” said Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (47) at the time.
