Commerzbank: Ebitda positive in 2022, DAX candidate

(CercleFinance.com) – Commerzbank announced on Monday that it had generated a positive gross operating surplus (Ebitda) of just over 3.37 billion euros in 2022, a performance that could allow it to return to the flagship index DAX.

By aligning a second year in a row of profitability at the operational level, the German banking group indeed satisfies one of the eligibility criteria for the phase index of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, which it had left in 2018.

For Bettina Orlopp, its financial director, Commerzank could thus constitute a contender of choice, from the point of view of Deutsche Börse, to replace Linde in the DAX 40 index.

The German establishment recalls, however, that integration into the DAX index also depends on a number of other parameters, starting with market capitalization.

The next quarterly assessment of the composition of the index will take place on March 3.

Commerzbank is scheduled to release its fourth quarter and full year 2022 results on February 16.
