Communale 2023 – Peuerbach on a mission in the world of the stars

The Communale pilot project attracted around 13,000 visitors to Eferding this summer. Because the “small state exhibition” was a success, it moved to Peuerbach, the city of astronomers, next year. We reported on that. Historical as well as current events from space will play a role here.

Georg von Peuerbach, who looked at the stars in the 15th century to prepare the Copernican world view, is the head of the next Communale of the state of Upper Austria. A centerpiece will be the exhibition on the history of astronomy in the castle museum, which will be renovated before the opening of the Communale.More than stardustThe cometor, a walk-in sculpture, has also been in the castle park Peuerbach for 12 years. The name is composed of comet and gate, a gate to the world of stars. This attraction is also ideal for the theme “Cosmos new worlds”. The Austrian Space Forum, which among other things is constantly involved with its know-how in simulated international Mars missions, should also be involved in program items. The Communale starts in 2023 on May 30th and runs until October 26th.
