(Boursier.com) — Sofival and Savoie Stations Ingénierie Touristique (SSIT) have entered into an agreement under the terms of which Sofival has undertaken to transfer to SSIT or to any company that the latter may replace, all of its stake in the capital of the Company of the Alps (CDA) representing 5.59% of the shares issued by the latter.

SSIT has a period expiring on July 17, 2023 to exercise the purchase option granted to it after consultation with the deliberative bodies to which SSIT reports.

The sale, if it takes place, must take place no later than September 28, 2023.

This Promise to sell was received by SSIT in the presence of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, which is studying its participation in this operation alongside SSIT, given its interest in it.

For nearly 16 years, Sofival has supported CDA in its development and financial restructuring. The Sofival group now wishes to amplify its diversification into other economic sectors, which it had initiated in 2007 when the Société des Téléphériques de Val d’Isère (STVI) was sold to CDA.

Sofival indicates that it remains “fully invested in the mountain economy, with the operation and development of the 3 ski areas of Avoriaz, La Rosière and Valmorel, which it pursues in partnership with the CDA which holds 20% of the capital of each of the operating companies”.

SSIT, which is a SAEM owned by the Department, is a major player in tourism in Savoie. This acquisition would constitute a reinforcement of the positions of the community in its “ecosystem” at a time when the sector is experiencing strong questions related to climate change.
