Nearly a quarter of them are actively exploring these technologies which will mark a profound change.
For large companies, quantum is becoming a concrete subject of work, in which they invest time and money. Globally, almost one in four (23%) are currently working on these technologies or exploring their use, according to a report by Capgemini’s research center. And 85% of them plan to increase their investments in this area in the coming year.
Quantum technologies literally revolutionize the way of designing computing, relying on physical properties at the scale of atoms or particles and no longer just on mathematics. This paradigm shift opens the way to immeasurable computing power with current computing, to promising ultra-sensitive sensors in the military, health or navigation, or to new cryptographic capacities to secure communications.
