Economically “a disaster”
Zöchling confirms that a newly built part of the plant is currently officially closed – but for him this is a confirmation: “If parts are blocked but the problem persists, we cannot be responsible,” he says and refers to other waste companies in the area. Economically, the dispute for Zöchling is “a disaster. We invested four million euros in the location because we thought we would be welcome here,” he says. The basis for discussion with the community is “poor”, but they still want to “keep the location and the employees”.
