compared to the Galaxy S22, it’s a hit

The newcomer to Samsung’s Galaxy S line, the Galaxy S23, is selling much better than its predecessor.

To say that the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series went well is an understatement. Dithyrambic critical reception, especially here in Europe where we finally benefit from a Snapdragon chip and the comfort that goes with it. But sometimes, in the industry, an excellent critical reception does not necessarily rhyme with economic success. Oppo, for example, whose high-end phones are often acclaimed, is currently going through a storm in Europe.

A priori, and according to the information reported by GSM Arena, Samsung would not be affected by the same phenomenon, quite the contrary. The company has just confirmed that sales of its latest flagships far exceed those of previous models.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra far ahead

In total, the trio reportedly outperformed S22 sales by 70% in Latin America, 40% in India and 50% in Europe and in the Middle East. Between the three phones, the Ultra clearly crushes the other two, since it totals 60% of sales, compared to 20% each for the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus.

Difficult to determine what allowed this series to impose itself more than its predecessor. In Europe, we would be tempted to invoke the switch to Snapdragon, but for the rest of the world, this is more debatable. These good results may influence Samsung in the design choices of the next Galaxy S24, which it is rumored could switch to a double configuration, Snapdragon and Exynos.
