“Compete with PSG”: Ratcliffe’s (very) ambitious speech for OGC Nice

After the failures of Chelsea and Manchester United, the British billionaire would like to go all out in OGC Nice and not acquire Liverpool.

Offensive formula. And words that are sure to ignite the Cote d’Azur. Jim Ratcliffe would no longer be interested in English clubs but French ones. The British billionaire said he did not want to invest in Liverpool but rather in OGC Nice to compete with PSG. Damn cheeky when you know the domination of the Parisian club Qatar version.

After suffering setbacks from Chelsea and Manchester United, Jim Ratcliffe was rumored to have targeted Liverpool. The main interested party, already owner of OGC Nice via his Ineos group, quickly extinguished the rumor by claiming to want to invest massively in the Aiglons to compete with PSG.

Jim Ratcliffe bets everything on Nice

Asked by the Telegrama spokesperson for Ineos admitted that the billionaire never thought of buying Liverpool, historic rival of his heart club, Manchester United.

Our position has developed since the summer and we are now concentrating our efforts on Nice. We have raised our ambitions for the club to become a top team in France to compete with PSG. (…) It would represent much better value for our investment than buying one of the best clubs in the Premier League.”

Jim Ratcliffe has owned the French club since the summer of 2019, when Ineos bought OGC Nice. Since then, the Gym has struggled to really compete with PSG. This start to the season is proof of this, the Aiglons only occupy ninth place in the Ligue 1 standings.
