Completely without a chance in Milan
Bayern’s basketball players bury Euroleague dreams

In the Euroleague, the FC Bayern basketball players are dragging themselves towards the end. With the clear bankruptcy in Milan, they gambled away all chances of the playoffs. The successes of the past seasons cannot be repeated.

After a clear bankruptcy at Olimpia Milan, the basketball players of FC Bayern Munich lost all chances of making it into the Euroleague playoffs. The weakened team of coach Andrea Trinchieri clearly lost in Italy with 74:99 (36:49) and four games before the end with a record of 11:19 victories also mathematically no longer has a chance, like in the past two years the K.- o. round in the premier class.

The game was actually decided after just ten minutes. The Italians clearly led 25:8 against overstrained Munich. It didn’t get any better at the beginning of the second round, on the contrary. At times, Milan was ahead with 23 points (34:11/14th minute). The outstanding Andreas Obst was able to shorten the gap single-handedly until the break. With 19 points, including five successful shots from distance, the national player scored more than half of Bayern’s points after 20 minutes.

Since Obst did not score as often after the change of sides, the hosts were able to extend the lead again. From the Trinchieri team’s point of view, it was 54:72 in the final round. In the fourth quarter, Bayern had no chance again and ended up losing by a margin of 25 points. The best scorer among the guests was the strong Obst with 27 points. The German international Johannes Voigtmann scored seven points for Milan.

For Bayern it was the third defeat in a row and the 19th on matchday 30. Like Alba Berlin (9:21), Munich (11:19) is also in the bottom of the table in the Euroleague. Milan (14:16) can continue to hope for the quarter-finals thanks to the win.
