Computex 2023 – MSI announces a designer gaming PC in partnership with AMG Motorsport

Taiwan’s Computex reopens in 2023 after a hiatus due to the Covid outbreak, with the PC world returning to its main showcase. The opportunity for MSI to present a new laptop with a partner that is surprising to say the least. No question of audio manufacturer or screen manufacturer here, but of an automotive firm, since it is AMG Motorsport which signs the partnership with MSI. A way of praising the design side and the sporting performance of Mercedes, as you can imagine.

A featherweight PC

Beyond the symbolism – and the somewhat marketing aspect – of this agreement, the Stealth 16 has a definitely top-of-the-range technical sheet. The chassis is made from a magnesium and aluminum alloy which allows it to display a weight of barely 1.88 kg on the scale, which is particularly light for a gaming PC. Some design elements are obviously a nod to the world of racing, especially on the space bar and the rear edge of the chassis. The MSI and AMG badges are also displayed large on the hood, which is perhaps a little too much to go unnoticed.

A high-end technical sheet

On the component side, we can count on GeForce RTX 4070 from Nvidia and up to a 13th generation Intel Core i9. You can also install up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM and even two Nvme SSDs. Enough to play or work in excellent conditions a priori, even if the TGP of the 105 W graphics card risks being a somewhat limiting factor. The screen is not to be outdone, since MSI has chosen a 4K Oled panel in 16:10 format with thin borders, in other words that we can play or watch videos in optimal conditions, especially since the rate refresh rate climbs to 144 Hz.

We will soon verify during a test the functioning of the computer as well as its performance on the screen side, autonomy and construction. The selling price of the PC is not yet known, but it should be high given the configuration.
