Computex 2023 – We saw the AirJets, the future of PC cooling

Frore Systems made a lot of noise at CES 2023 in Las Vegas, despite the company’s rather quiet strategy. As we explained to you a few months ago, this firm intends to revolutionize the cooling of certain electronic products with its AirJet and AirJet Mini, the laptops at the top of the list.

Instead of the blades of a fan, a sort of flat mini-reactor is used incorporating a high-frequency vibrating membrane, the whole responsible for absorbing fresh air and expelling warm ambient air.

These AirJets have several advantages. First of all, they are extremely quiet. The company announces between 24 and 29 dB, which is indeed negligible, although we will have to confirm in real conditions when the first laptops will be equipped with it. Another important element is the size. Thanks to its finesse and compactness, this system can be easily inserted into a computer. You can even add the AirJets to install two, three or even four in a chassis. A Samsung Galaxy Book 2, modified for Computex, thus revealed the installation possibilities with three AirJet Minis under its hood.

Air filters and system operation prevent dust from entering the computer. And unlike PCs with fans, the user should – in theory – no longer have to periodically clean the interior to ensure effective cooling.

The system is ultra-compact.

This technology is not only dedicated to computers. We were able to come across an SSD, whose temperatures remained very cool for potentially maximum performance, even under full load. Frore Systems also presented a led projector, usually cooled by a large fan, but here replaced by its much more compact solution. Consoles, video projectors, smartphones gaming : the applications are multiple!

AirJets are already available

Silence, compactness and maintenance: the AirJets seem to tick all the boxes and Zotac has understood this well. The component and PC manufacturer hastened to enter into a partnership with Frore System to integrate its AirJet Mini into a NUC mini PC. The ZBOX PI430AJ was unveiled at Computex, barely five months after CES. Although equipped with a light configuration in Core i3, this machine underlines the interest of the manufacturers for this new technology. We could even see the birth of models gaming eventually integrating it to finally enjoy silence with a graphics card.

We look forward to testing all of this in our lab, especially with the most powerful computers.
