However, director John Milius, who directed the first feature film, was unavailable. Roger Donaldson was then engaged. However, producer Dino De Laurentiis ultimately preferred to assign the filmmaker another project: The Bounty (1984). John Milius then suggested the name of Richard Fleischer to him.who at the time had made one of his favorite films, The Vikings (1958).

Conan the destroyer: less violence and nudity in this sequel, but also more humor
