Condensed milk to revisit English toffee

Toffee is a candy from the United Kingdom. Originally, it is obtained by boiling sugar in butter. The result is a caramelized dough that is eaten like a candy. The variant of this recipe exists on the other side of the Mediterranean, in West Africa. In countries like Benin, the "toffi" is made by mixing sweetened condensed milk and oil. In a pan, the oil (preferably an oil with a mild taste) is left to heat for a few minutes. Then add the entire box or tube of milk. Then mix regularly to prevent the mixture from burning. It will boil, solidify, and change color until it becomes brown. Remove from the heat as soon as the color and consistency suits you. You will then have to let it cool a little before rolling your toffi into a ball or in the shape of your choice to eat them more easily.
