After her arrest, Nicki Minaj’s concert in Manchester was cancelled at the last minute. Fans are angry with the rapper.

The fans of Nicki Minaj (41) is angry and disappointed. On Saturday evening (May 25th) the rapper was supposed to perform in a sold-out arena in Manchester, England. Just a few hours before the concert, however, she was arrested at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam – according to the Dutch police, for possession of soft drugs.

Minaj published pictures and videos on Instagram and Xwhich show her being questioned by officials and arguing with them. According to media reports, the 41-year-old was released after paying a “reasonable” fine. But it was too late for the concert in Manchester – even though around 20,000 fans had already been waiting for hours in the Co-op Live Arena. The performance was supposed to start at 9:30 p.m. and was cancelled around that time.

Many fans are disappointed

The British BBC quotes including an 18-year-old woman who said she was “quite angry”. “I spent £150 on my ticket and took a day off work and we waited for three hours before being told it wasn’t going to happen,” she said. A 17-year-old fan said he was “absolutely devastated”. “We came here, spent the whole day preparing and then something like this happens,” the BBC quoted him as saying. “It’s really disappointing to have had high hopes and spent the money and then to find out at the last minute that she’s not coming.”

Other fans are wondering why the concert was cancelled so late and not hours earlier. Minaj’s arrest in Amsterdam happened early in the afternoon.

Nicki Minaj apologizes to her fans

In a long post on platform X the rapper spoke out during the night and accused the Dutch police of deliberately holding her back longer so that she could not play the concert. But she also apologized to her fans: “Please, please, please accept my deepest and most sincere apology,” she wrote. “They have done this over and over and over and over again and I have tried so hard not to talk about it because you deserve only the best. I hate dragging you into something that is not just for entertainment.”

She plans to announce a replacement date for the cancelled show shortly and promises her fans an “additional bonus” for the replacement show. Minaj also shared with her fans that nightin which hotel in Manchester she was staying and invited them to gather outside; she wanted to show herself on the balcony for an hour.
