The Congolese Labor Party (PCT) of President Denis Sassou Nguesso won the majority of the 151 seats in Parliament, after the legislative elections of July 10 in Congo, according to the provisional official results consulted on Saturday by AFP and disputed by the ‘opposition.
The PCT, which already had 101 seats in the outgoing assembly, won 103 elected officials, Territorial Administration Minister Guy Georges Mbaka said on public television on Friday. He did not specify the turnout, which was very low, according to observers and journalists, particularly in Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire, the country’s two main cities. The ruling party still has a few candidates on the ballot for the second round scheduled for July 24. There are still 27 seats to be filled.
Its majority allies, including the Rally for Democracy and Social Progress (RDPS), the Movement for Action and Renewal (MAR) and the Club 2002-PUR (Party for Unity and the Republic) won 13 seats.

The Union of Humanist Democrats (UDH-Yuki) of the late opponent Guy-Brice Parfait Kolélas has only two elected members. While the partychainof Joseph Kignoumbi Kia Mboungou, who also claims to be from the opposition, won only one seat.
