With Spotify, millions of songs and podcasts are available on demand. The streaming service is also known for its intuitive operation and its ingenious algorithm, which gives you new song suggestions with a direct hit guarantee.
Even if Spotify does not offer the highest playback quality by far and is therefore not the first choice for audiophiles, Spotify still dominates the market in general, which is now bustling with more and more providers.

These are the main Alexa voice commands for Spotify
With the following voice commands you can voice control Spotify on the Echo and other Alexa-enabled devices and request specific titles as well as genres and playlists:
“Alexa, play ‘Beautiful Stranger’ by Madonna on Spotify”, “Alexa, play Heavy Metal on Spotify””Alexa, start my playlist ‘Party Time’ on Spotify”.
Tip: If you set up Spotify as the default service under “Music and Podcasts” in the Alexa app, you don’t have to keep saying “on Spotify” when making inquiries.
Spotify Free vs. Premium: These are the differences
If you use a free Spotify account, various functions of the paid premium account are not available to you. Free song selection, song skipping and higher playback quality are only included in the Spotify Premium subscription. Also, with Spotify Free, you have to listen to Wung every few songs.
The Alexa skill allows you to ask for artists, albums and songs with Spotify Free. You will then hear a mix with similar music. If you ask for one of your playlists, Spotify will start a radio mix based on it. In other words, you need a premium subscription to play certain songs and playlists directly.
Amazon Alexa: This is how you change the Spotify account
Once you have connected your Spotify account to Alexa, the Amazon voice assistant can access your song library and playlists. If you want to connect another account, you have to deactivate the Alexa skill again and restart it, in order to then log in with the alternative user account.
If you have created different profiles on Alexa for members of the household and set up a voice ID for all users, your Echo will automatically recognize which streaming service or account the music should be played through. Changing your account is then not necessary.
