IKEA continues its entry into the connected home market. The Swedish giant unveils three new sensors intended for “ remote monitoring and control » of your home.
Three discreet sensors to monitor the house
“ Our research shows that people prioritize comfort and security in their homes. Everyone wants to feel safe at home and we’re excited to enter a new realm of smart products that not only make life at home better, but safer. “, comments Stjepan Begic, Product Design Developer at IKEA.
The first product, Parasoll, is installed discreetly on doors or windows. It detects when an opening or closing movement is made and notifies the user directly on their smartphone.
In the same vein, Vallhorn is also capable of spotting movements. Can be placed indoors or outdoors, it activates the light when necessary. It also offers personalized lighting with adjustable color and intensity.
Badring’s function differs. The device should be positioned near water usage areas such as the washing machine, shower or sink, and alerts users when it detects water leaks. It is also able to trigger a siren.
A very affordable price
In addition to their discretion, the advantage of these devices is undoubtedly their price. They will be launched in early 2024 at less than 10 euros each. IKEA also indicates that updates will improve their skills over time. However, you will need to connect them to the Dirigera hub to take advantage of their capabilities.
“ Our new sensors combine technology with our furnishing expertise to provide affordable solutions that enhance everyday moments at home », concludes David Granath, head of the range.
