Adapted from Vanessa Springora’s autobiographical story, Le Consentement focuses on the control and sexual abuse of which she was the victim by the writer Gabriel Matzneff, when she was a teenager. The young actress Kim Higelin (seen, among others, in the series Plan B) plays the latter.

Granddaughter of the late singer Jacques Higelin, Kim grew up in a family of artists, her father, Kên, working in the industry. Very early on, his taste for the stage led him to improvise shows for those around him. With her baccalaureate in hand, a small job as a waitress allows her to pay for drama lessons.

Kim Higelin honed her game in 2019 on the short films Snowflakes, Solitude(s) and Scarlett. After a few appearances in SKAM France and Alexandra Ehle, Rodolphe Tissot directs her in the fiction Clèves (2020), about a teenager’s awakening to sexuality. The public discovered her the following year in the TF1 series Plan B.

Her character, Lou, the uncomfortable daughter of Julie de Bona, ends her life, pushing her mother to call on a mysterious agency to return to the past in order to understand what she missed. We then see her in the detective TV film Of Honey and Blood (2022), led by Nicolas Gob, Léa François and Eva Darlan.

In 2023, Kim appears in an episode of the spin-off series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (set in France) as a survivor leader of a community of children. That same year, she found her most important and most difficult role in the drama Le Consentement, directed by Vanessa Filho.

Is Consent with Jean-Paul Rouve a good film? Here’s what the first viewers think of the adaptation of the shocking book

“With Consent, I found myself facing something much stronger than me. I abandoned my bearings to play Vanessa. I also felt the need to place myself in a bubble and concentrate solely on the text , months before filming”explains Kim, continuing:

“I only surrounded myself with my partner, my best friend and Vanessa Filho during this preparation, during which I worked on the script and the text by Vanessa Springora. The answers to the questions I asked myself were found in these writings. I was nourished by everything, from his childhood to his adulthood.”
