France 2 offers Wednesday February 1 the fiction “Constance aux enfers” with Miou-Miou in the title role, from 9:10 p.m. What is this dramatic comedy worth, combining mystery and lightness, adapted from the novel of the same name written by Jean-Pierre Ferrière?
What is it about ?
“Apart from Amine and Kimmy, the young couple of neighbors she meets regularly, visitors are rare in Constance Brunel’s antique shop. Solitude is also that of her life.
One night, Amine, panicked, seeks help at home: Kimmy fell badly while slipping and killed herself. Thinking that the police will not believe this version because of his criminal past, Amine borrows Constance’s car to take the corpse and make it disappear.
In the days that followed, this shared secret brought Constance and Amine closer together. But one morning, an anonymous letter accompanied by photos demands a ransom: someone in the building has seen everything, the blackmail begins…”
This is an adaptation of the novel by Jean-Pierre Ferrierepublished by Fleuve Noir in the Special Police collection. Constancy in Hell is a TV movie broadcast this Wednesday, February 1, 2023, on France 2 from 9:10 p.m.
Who is it with?
Miou-Miou (recently seen in the series Nona and her daughters) embodies Constance, the main role of this fiction directed by Gaël Morel. He also signs the screenplay with Gilles Taurand. Aurore Clément (Addict) plays Maricé, our heroine’s best friend.
Salim Kechiouche (Braqueurs, Rebecca) interprets Amine and Marilyn Lima (SKAM France) slips into the skin of Kimmy. Finally, Jérôme Deschamps (soon in Adieu vinyle) lends his features to Mr. Lorelle and Stéphane Rideau (The patient) becomes the detective whose services Constance enlists.

From the window of her building under construction, Constance talks every day with a charming worker with the physique of a Greek god. The discussion with him is not the most fluid because the young man is a foreigner. But whatever. Here, only the pleasure of the eyes counts… and we can understand it!
Rather isolated, this woman in the last third of her life feels a furious need to vibrate. One day, she meets Amine in her antique store. He wants to offer a nice gift to Kimmy, his influencer girlfriend who is also Constance’s neighbor.
Subsequently, the two women become friends and the social network expert even offers her new friend to create an online storefront for her, in order to help her sell the stocks in her Ali Baba cave. But Kimmy quickly notices that Constance is watching Amine with a very interested eye… and she’s right!
Without realizing it, Constance started to have a crush on him. His girlfriend marks her territory and the conflict becomes official between the rivals… Very jealous, Kimmy throws a tantrum at Amine and their argument turns sour. She falls down the stairs and dies by accident!
Desperate, Amine rushes to Constance. Shocked and under the disarming charm of this ephebe, our heroine immediately supports him and then begins their idyll, sealed by their union in crime and secrecy. But wouldn’t appearances ultimately be deceptive?
Constance aux enfers is a light and funny dramatic comedy with a thriller background. Miou-Miou is convincing in the skin of her character with the desire to (re)live passionately and burning with desire for the very seductive Amine. The staging, the music and certain shots are sometimes reminiscent of a frivolous play… and that’s refreshing!
The love triangle that is forming before our eyes is unexpected. We are also as surprised as Constance! She realizes that this rapprochement with Amine is not a good idea but cannot help giving free rein to her feelings either. She feels coveted again and exists in the gentle eyes of the latter…
When Amine takes things in hand, Constance lets him hold the reins, without thinking, like a teenager fascinated by her bad boy… But like everything in life, the time for the first emotions passes and doubt takes hold of her. As soon as she is born, her questions about Amine’s true intentions never leave her, until the tragicomic outcome of the TV movie.
Constance’s descent into hell is just as inexorable and improbable… but we really want to follow her there!
