Constantine 2: a sequel announced with Keanu Reeves for the demon hunter!

Master of the occult John Constantine will return to hunt demons in “Constantine 2”. Seventeen years after the first film, Keanu Reeves will reprise his role.

“You descend ?” “Not if I can avoid…” He is one of the only bulwarks of Humanity in the secret war being played out between Heaven and Hell, and the only being to dare to call the Devil “Lulu”: John Constantine, the detective-exorcist-hunter of demons, comic-book anti-heroes hellblazer at DC Comics, will soon return to the big screen in Constantine 2 according to variety.

The first part of Constantine, directed by Francis Lawrence (I am a legend, the Hunger Games saga) and worn by Keanu Reeves, was released in 2005 at the cinema, and had been a great success in theaters, with more than 230 million dollars in receipts worldwide and 1,228,248 admissions in France, and a warm welcome from fans.

– I don’t believe in the devil. – You should… He believes in you.

Since then, the character had been declined in various films and animated series, and in 2014 in a series carried by Matt Ryan canceled after one season. John Constantine had however returned – still in the guise of the British comedian – in the series Legends of Tomorrow from season 3.

At the end of its narrative arc in season 6, a reboot project had been launched under the banner of JJ Abrams and his company Bad Robot for HBO Max … before being canceled by this cinema sequel, in which Abrams will participate next production. The scenario of Constantine 2 will be entrusted to Akiva Goldsman, at work on I Robot, I am a legend or Da Vinci Code, and Oscar winner for An exceptional man.

Sandman: why does John Constantine not appear in the Netflix series?

Definitely essential in pop culture, Keanu Reeves will therefore resume trench coat and the occult tattoos of John Constantine, again under the direction of Francis Lawrence. This will be the comedian’s fourth franchise after The Matrix, John Wick and the Bill & Ted trilogy. The first Constantine is currently available on VOD and streaming on Prime Video for a catch-up.
