On Thursday, March 18, 2021, Prime Minister Jean Castex announced, during his weekly press conference, a new confinement, "light", in sixteen departments of Ile-de-France, Hauts-de-France, Alpes-Maritimes, Seine-Maritime and Eure. "This is the time it takes for them to produce a sufficient effect unless, of course, significant positive results are seen in the meantime, this is also the time it takes for us to reach a very important first level in the vaccination of the most vulnerable ", thus assured the head of government. This new measure, added to a curfew moved to 7 p.m., came into effect on Saturday, March 20. However, Jean Castex's announcements were not very clear to Internet users, many of whom complained on social networks. And the return of the exceptional travel certificate does not help matters!
Internet users do not understand the new exceptional travel certificate
Indeed, to ventilate, do their shopping or to walk their pet, the millions of French people affected by this new confinement are obliged to travel with a certificate. The new version of this pass, available on the website of the Ministry of the Interior, caused great anger on social networks. Two pages long, it presents no less than fifteen different patterns! Not to mention that, for Internet users, the differences between trips relating to the curfew and those relating to confinement are really not clear. Number 1 in Twitter trends (the most commented topics) Saturday morning March 20, the term "certificate" thus hinted at the incomprehension of the French. "Two pages of attestation, fifteen authorization options… and that speaks to us about common sense, pragmatism and innovation every day!", one Internet user grumbled while another rebelled against this measure, which is absent from many other countries: "The self-attestation will remain, for my part, the symbol of the contempt of the government and the administration towards the population. A symptom of the French malaise. A cultural exception which we would have done well". Four more weeks to go!
