"STAY HOME". More than three words posed here, it is an act of humanity which saves lives. But confinement poses some questions, as in the case of contraception. For this reason, Marlène Schiappa, Secretary of State for Equality between Women and Men, has simplified access to the contraceptive pill, in order to avoid any interruption of treatment which may harm the health of French people. . Women who take the pill will be able to be dispensed, until May 31, birth control pills on presentation of a prescription, even if it is expired. The contraceptive pill will be reimbursed under the usual conditions.
This measure allows pharmacists "to deliver the contraceptive pill to women unable to refill their prescription, upon presentation of their old prescription", specifies Marlène Schiappa and Olivier Véran, Minister of Solidarity and Health, in their press release.
"The right of women to dispose of their bodies is fundamental and cannot be called into question in times of health crisis, such as the one we know today. No woman in France can be prevented from accessing contraception, the government commits to it ", recalls Marlène Schiappa in the press release.
