Containment will be extended beyond April 15

Yesterday evening, the Elysée Palace announced to AFP that the confinement will last beyond April 15. President Emmanuel Macron, meanwhile, will speak on Monday evening on television.

It was via a press release sent to AFP that the Elysée Palace spoke this Wednesday, April 8. Containment, which has been in place since March 17, will be extended to fight the pandemic of the new coronavirus. The President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron has not yet shared the new date for the end of the confinement but a speech on television next Monday evening is scheduled for 8 p.m. He should be able to give more details on the conditions of this new extension. It will be his fourth speech on television since the confinement of the entire country was announced.

In order to best prepare the new decisions that will be announced next Monday evening, President Emmanuel Macron plans to consult in advance with various interlocutors : "The Head of State will consult by Monday a large number of public and private actors, French European and international, in order to exchange with them on the major issues relating to Covid-19 and to prepare the decisions to be announced Monday to the French " can be read in the press release from AFP.

In France, the coronavirus killed 10,869 people. However, the increase in the number of intensive care patients has slowed down recently. The Director General of Health still insisted that the tension in the resuscitation services remained "particularly strong".
