What symptoms in case of listeria contamination?

Namely: the listeriosis is considered a serious disease with an incubation period of up to eight weeks. The disease results in an infection of the blood (septicemia), even of the central nervous system, which then manifests itself mainly by meningoencephalitis. Contaminated people can develop fever (more or less strong and sometimes feverish peaks), headaches, digestive disorders (diarrhea, nausea, vomiting). It can happen that neurological complications (meningitis, encephalitis) occur. In case of symptoms, it is advisable to call your doctor to see the measures to be taken.

The people most likely to develop a severe form of listeriosis are pregnant women (this is why some products are prohibited during pregnancy), people over 80 years of age and people with cancer. or hemopathy, dialysis patients, insulin-dependent diabetics … and anyone who is immunosuppressed.
