Contract negotiations – “We have to protect the staff in the hospital”

“We have to become more attractive”
The religious hospitals provide around half of the hospital beds in Upper Austria. But the lack of personnel is also the dominant issue in the orders. “We have to become more attractive, and politicians are also required to do this. We are lacking employees across all areas,” says Deicker. In addition to the well-known shortage of nurses, there would also be a lack of staff in the areas of technology, cleaning, kitchen and administration. In order to make it more attractive to work in the hospital sector again, at least in the future, the works councils are currently preparing for the upcoming collective bargaining negotiations. Deicker will play a central role as head of negotiations for Upper Austria.
