Control 2: Remedy formalizes the name of the sequel, the platforms and its publishing partnership with 505 Games, a first concept art released

These last years, Remedy has multiplied the announcements of projects, so much so that it is easy to get lost. In addition to remakes of the first two Max Payne with Rockstar Gamesof a AAA mysterious on behalf ofEpic Games and a free-to-play PVE shooter called Vanguard for Tencenthe prepares three new projects for his Remedy Connected Universethe long-awaited Alan Wake 2 on one side and on the other a suite and a spin off multiplayer at control. This is not the project Condor who is talking about him this Friday, but well the one that will naturally be called Control 2.

This suite hitherto known under the title of project Heron therefore comes as no surprise, but Remedy and 505 Games formalize their agreement to co-develop and co-publish Control 2diffusing along the way a first concept art very mysterious, depicting a containment area with three figures suspended in the air in the background, which we could qualify as “mummified”. The threat posed by The Hiss will undoubtedly make his return. Licensing Director Mikael Kasurinen said the following about the project:

With Control, we have ventured into the unknown. We wanted to create something new. Something different and unexpected. A world like no other. Thank you, audience, for making Control such a hit for us.

With Control 2, we will take another leap into the unknown. It will be an unexpected journey. It will take some time, but to put it lightly, this is the most exciting project I have ever worked on. It’s still early days, but it will be worth the wait.

Sincerely,
Mikael Kasurinen
Control Franchise Game Director

In addition, on the site dedicated to investors, Remedy precise that Control 2 will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PCand will use the game engine again Northlight that he designed. The initial budget is 50 million euros divided in half between the studio and 505 Games. In addition to retaining the right to the license, he will also receive half of the revenue generated, a partnership that clearly demonstrates confidence in the game’s potential. If the publisher undertakes to bring Control 2 on consoles, it’s Remedy which will publish it directly to PC. Good, we will have to wait, because it is only at the concept stage.

“We are delighted to deepen our cooperation with Remedy and to continue the success story of Control together. Since its launch in 2019, Control has sold over 3 million copies,” said Rami and Raffi Galante, co-CEOs of Digital Bros Group/505 Games. “Control is the biggest investment 505 Games has ever made, so it has a special place in our hearts. We are grateful to the entire gaming community who have made Control such an enduring and beloved game, and we are even more excited to release Control 2,” continue Rami and Raffi Galante.

“I am now proud to confirm that the biggest budget game Control, also known as Codename Heron, is Control 2, a full sequel to our award-winning Control game,” said Tero Virtala, CEO of Remedy.

While waiting to learn more, this clearly gives you time to discover Control, which is sold from €10.93 on Amazon. At this price, go for it!
